Conclusion:

I checked in my luggage in Brisbane International Airport to fly to Bangkok, I was surprised to find my two panniers came to just under 10 Kilograms5. This included my bike cover and mirrors which I installed soon after landing in Bangkok.

However this did not include the camping equipment as I had this sent to me when I was in Cambodia and waiting to depart for Korea. I felt that I did not really require camping equipment in South East Asia as finding cheap guest houses is really easy.

Finally ten months later all my equipment was beaten up by dust and faded by the sun I returned to Australia. I checked my bags at the airport and was pleasantly surprised to find they weighted only 15 kilograms.
